The Department of Transport does not plan to extend the tram line to the Novaya Samara and Krutiye Klyuchi microdistricts. This was the answer the head of the department, Sergei Markin, gave to a question from City Duma Speaker Alexei Dyogtev during a meeting of the committee for the development of urban infrastructure, housing and communal services and the environment.

“The developers talked about their readiness to participate in the extension of the tram line on the terms of a public-private partnership. Is anything being done in this direction?” asked Alexey Degtev.
“We do not envisage bringing the tram line to New Samara and Krutiye Klyuchi. We see the development of accessibility of these microdistricts through the construction of transport hubs. As part of the development of the campus, which is planned to be built near the Solidarity Samara Arena, it is planned to launch short bus routes, including from Krutiye Klyuchi and Novaya Samara, passengers will be able to travel to the stadium and change to trams or other buses there,” answered Sergei Markin.
The idea of extending the tram line from the Solidarity Samara Arena to Krutye Klyuchi was voiced by the urban planning department about 5 years ago. It was assumed that the rails would be laid along the Moscow Highway. But no money was allocated even for the design of such an expensive idea.
