German Chancellor Olaf Scholz accused the Russian Federation of trying to appropriate the works of Immanuel Kant; the authorities of the Kaliningrad region responded with a counter-reproach. TASS writes about this on Wednesday, April 24.

According to Scholz, Russia’s current policy contradicts Kant’s beliefs. Moscow has no reason to refer to the works of the philosopher, the chancellor is sure.

“No one has done more than our country and our region to perpetuate the memory of the great philosopher and his teachings. I would like to remind you that Immanuel Kant died as a subject of the Russian crown. It seems to me that this, more than any words, of all possible German politicians, shows the position of the great philosopher regarding Russia,” Dmitry Lyskov, head of the press service of the government of the Kaliningrad region, responded to this.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko at the opening of the congress “World Concept of Philosophy” at the IKBFU. I. Kant noted that AI theme “would be interesting to Kant himself, if he were with us today.”
