Rostov region, April 24, 2024. DON24.RU. SVO participants who have become disabled may begin to receive half the costs of their compulsory motor liability insurance policy. This initiative was made by deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov region.

Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov Region Alexander Ishchenko said that today, according to current legislation, those disabled people who received a car from budget funds as a means of rehabilitation can receive compensation. However, payment is not provided if the vehicle is purchased at your own expense or the individual rehabilitation program does not indicate the need to use vehicles.

“We propose that our soldiers who received a disability while performing tasks in the SVO should be reimbursed 50% of the cost of the MTPL policy, regardless of the grounds on which the SVO participant purchased the car and uses it. I am confident that this approach will provide significant support to the participants of the special military operation and their families,” noted Alexander Ishchenko.

The Speaker of the Don Parliament thanked the Russian Senator from the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov Region, Irina Rukavishnikova, for her help in resolving this issue. The senator has already held consultations on this issue with the government of the Russian Federation.

Alexander Ishchenko and Irina Rukavishnikova also believe that such a support measure should become available to other categories of citizens with disabled status.

“The Rostov branch of the All-Russian Organization of Parents of Disabled Children invited deputies of the Don Parliament and Senator Irina Rukavishnikova to consider the possibility of reimbursement of 50% of the cost of the MTPL policy for disabled people of the first and second groups and parents of disabled children who use a car purchased at their own expense. Current federal legislation does not provide for such a measure. The implementation of this initiative will significantly improve the situation of disabled people and parents of disabled children,” said Alexander Ishchenko.
