Residents of Tomsk SNT ask to pump out water from lowlands and remove ice floes

TOMSK, April 24 – RIA Tomsk. About 600 sections of the Tomsk SNT “Levoberezhye” were damaged by floods in 2024, some of them are still flooded, residents are asking to pump out the water, SNT Chairman Dmitry Mitrokhin told RIA Tomsk on Wednesday. The chairman of the neighboring SNT “Zaychik” Galina Yantsen said that their partnership also had flooded areas, people needed help in cleaning up the ice floes that had been brought onto the road.

Earlier it was reported that ice drift on Tom was accompanied by ice jams in Tomsk and the surrounding area. This provoked the flooding of a number of villages, including gardening non-profit partnerships (SNT), especially on the left bank. Thus, in SNT “Levoberezhye”, where many people live permanently, but without registration, evacuation was announced twice.

“In total, about 600 areas were affected… At the moment, areas near the river – the water there has subsided, they have cleared up a little. But those in the floodplain of the lake, that is, in ravines, lowlands… there are a lot of flooded (areas), water There is almost no decrease. There is also one substation (located), so part of SNT is without electricity,” said the chairman of SNT “Levoberezhye”.

According to Mitrokhin, it is impossible to accurately assess the full scale of the flooding: “A young man brought us information; he had a quadcopter, but it drowned.” In addition, many low-lying areas are currently inaccessible.

The chairman of the SNT asked the administration of the Kirovsky district of Tomsk for help in eliminating the consequences of the flood, in particular about pumping out the remaining water. I haven’t received a response yet.

Ice “barrier” in SNT “Zajchik”

As the chairman of the neighboring SNT “Zaychik” Galina Yantsen said, in total there are about 250 plots in the partnership, only a few people permanently reside. During the flood, almost all areas were flooded, “two houses were completely demolished by ice.” A number of streets are still flooded with water; SNT itself can only be reached by boat.

“We had ice floes washed ashore, three streets are blocked. We can’t pass. And one of our poles was blown away – it was cut off by ice floes,” said Yantzen, adding that SNT does not have the ability to independently remove blocks of ice.

Yantzen applied for help to the administration of the Kirov region, but she was refused.

The editors of RIA Tomsk contacted the Tomsk mayor’s office with a request to comment on the situation.

As previously reported, residents of settlements where a state of emergency has been introduced are entitled to payments in the amount of damage incurred, but not more than 50 thousand rubles per family. For other settlements, the one-time amount of financial assistance is determined individually, but cannot exceed three times the minimum subsistence level in the Tomsk region – 45,432 rubles.

A state of emergency due to floods in 2024 was introduced in Spassky, Zarechny, Kaltaisky and Zorkaltsevsky rural settlements of the Tomsk region.
