25 thousand registered foreign citizens live and work in the city of Vladimir. There are 76 “rubber” apartments registered with the police, where dozens of migrants are being registered en masse; in 2023, 63 criminal cases were initiated against the owners of such housing. Moreover, we are talking about real punishment for repeated crimes. The police emphasize that vigilant citizens can report suspicions of the creation of “rubber” apartments by calling “112”; such reports will definitely be checked.
In 2023, 233 cases of fictitious migration registration of foreign citizens were revealed, and 54 criminal cases were initiated based on these facts, the head of the city department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Colonel Ilya Isachenko, told deputies of the Vladimir City Council. According to the police,About 40 migrants are checked every day to see whether they live at their place of registration and whether they live and work legally in the country. Some cases end in forced deportation outside the country.
“Particular attention is paid to maintaining law and order in the field of migration legislation and preventing the commission of illegal actions on the part of migrants. The number of migrants who committed offenses and crimes in 2023 compared to 2022 decreased, and there were fewer crimes with serious consequences,” –Isachenko noted.
Deputies of the Vladimir City Council asked several questions on migration issues – they were interested in “rubber” dormitories and apartments, violations of law and order in the city and in the annexed territories where migrants can work for private owners. Isachenko noted that in the situation with migrants in the area of hostels on Lakina Street, 139, the police’s attention to the problem area is not weakening: about 100 reports were drawn up in this area under articles for petty hooliganism and alcohol consumption. There were no serious crimes in this place in 2023, the police note.
