An exhibition about the combat path of the 106th Airborne Division was opened in Tula’s Patriot Park – News from Tula and the region

80 years of victories and exploits. The 106th Guards Airborne Division went this way. By decree of the President of Russia in 2015, it was given the honorary name “Tula”.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the formation of the Division, an exhibition was solemnly opened in the Tula Patriot Park, which tells about the difficult combat path of the unit.

The colorful stands reflected the main historical milestones: Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Austria during the Great Patriotic War, the fulfillment of international duty in Afghanistan, special missions in Transcaucasia, Transnistria and Abkhazia, the first and second Chechen, combat missions in Syria. And these days, soldiers of the 106th successfully carry out combat missions in the zone of a special military operation.

The exhibition was prepared with the participation of the regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society and the Tula Museum Association with the help of the Government of the Tula Region. Numerous interactive platforms were prepared for the participants of the holiday. These are master classes in sports knife throwing, blade weapon skills, sports archery and crossbow shooting. For those who are closer to modern weapons, a master class “Bayonet is great” and classes on packing a parachute were organized.
