The regional center became a participant in the “Cultural Capital of 2026” competition. An all-Russian project with an intelligent name was established in 2023. In the premiere voting, Nizhny Novgorod became the leader, which will hold the honorary title this year. In 2025 he will “move” to the city of Grozny.
Currently, until December 1, voting for a new winner is taking place on the State Services portal. All 26 participants have good historical, cultural and industrial potential. Tambov is among them.
Our city is presented romantically and succinctly.

Submitted applications are considered in three areas – history, present and future. Our competitors in the competition are: Vladivostok, Vladikavkaz, Vladimir, Izhevsk, Rostov-on-Don, Tula and other cities.
To vote for Tambov, you need to go to the Feedback Platform using your account on “State Services” and select the name of our city from the general list of participants.
— This competition is a way for Russian cities to enter the federal information agenda for at least a year, to become the brightest points of attraction on the map of our country for tourists, potential investors and partners, — stated on the organizers’ website.
