Volgograd residents are invited to relax among the flowers in the regional botanical garden

A variety of colors, inflorescences, and the incredible aroma of spring. The season of excursions and free visits has started in the Volgograd Botanical Garden.

Far from the bustle of the city, in the botanical garden there is a sea of ​​flowers and colors. The magnolia here is already fading, but the flower does not become any less beautiful and captivating. But lilac – a symbol of love and devotion – is at its peak of flowering. What can we say about the smell… Cersis and unusually charming irises also delight with their bright blooms.

Among the first visitors to the botanical garden are schoolchildren from Volgograd Lyceum No. 2. This excursion for children is a kind of biology lesson on the road. Together with the class teacher, they get acquainted with the diversity of blooming flora not from a textbook, but with their own eyes. Perception is much better!

– I’m impressed that we have such a large botanical garden in Volgograd and that there are many plants in it. It’s very beautiful here,” he noted. student of Lyceum No. 2 of the Krasnooktyabrsky district of Volgograd Ildar Kurbangaliev.

There is something to see in the botanical garden besides the flower kaleidoscope. Here you can find fancy trees with lush spreading leaves and exotic plants native to other continents. Volgograd residents actively come to the blooming garden – to stroll in the shade of the plants, enjoy the tranquility and take a break from the bustle and household chores. And the gazebo, pond and covered greenhouses only invite you to relax.

“I was very interested, we are planning to plant lilacs at the dacha, we had to see what varieties there are, so we came, looked, chose, now we need to go buy,” he shared Anton Zavirokhin.

In total, there are more than 3 thousand species and varieties of plants on the territory of the Volgograd Regional Botanical Garden. You definitely can’t get around the garden in one go, and there’s no need to rush: every month nature finds something to surprise you with.

– Everything has already bloomed, is actively multiplying, developing, blooming and smelling, we are pleased with our collection. “Soon our collection of irises will bloom, now low forms are blooming, large “bearded irises” will bloom in beautiful and varied colors, in the near future during the holidays, right after the holidays you can see their mass flowering,” she said leading researcher at the Volgograd Regional Botanical Garden Maria Tkachenko.

Roses and peonies will soon delight you with their aroma and appearance, and clematis will bloom closer to June. By the way, the collection of the latter in the botanical garden is the largest in the Lower Volga region, it numbers more than 300 varieties.

The Volgograd Regional Botanical Garden in the village of Metallurgov is open to visitors on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; Volgograd residents can plunge into the world of flowers and lush greenery from eight in the morning to five in the evening.
