Rostov region, April 24, 2024. DON24.RU. In the Rostov region since the beginning of the year, there have been 86 accidents involving run-off roads. This is 7.5% more than in the same period last year. This was reported by the propaganda department of the Russian State Traffic Safety Inspectorate for the Rostov region.

According to the department, the number of people who die in such accidents has increased by 83%.

“The immediate reasons for driving off the roads were: speed inconsistency with specific traffic conditions, violation of the rules for positioning vehicles on the roadway, exceeding the established speed, violation of road signs, failure to comply with lateral spacing,” the source noted.

It is reported that in 18 accidents, drivers were driving while intoxicated; in 14 cases, the drivers did not have a license. Another 13 run-off-road accidents occurred as a result of traffic violations by drivers with less than two years of experience.

Most often, such accidents occur on regional or intermunicipal roads. It is also reported that road accidents occur mainly at night.
