According to documents, the cemetery on Kamskaya in Kaliningrad does not exist, but the city authorities will take care of this territory. Head of Administration Elena Dyatlova told Klops about this after an operational meeting on Wednesday, April 24.

“We had a lot of complaints about this area because no one had come there for decades. There are fallen trees, some of which were already lying on the graves. <...> Will this zone be included in the cemetery zone? No. We have three cemeteries in the city of Kaliningrad: on the Baltic Highway, on Mira Avenue and in Sazonovka. What do we do? We will keep this area in order,” Dyatlova explained.

According to the head of the administration, now this is “a green area for special purposes SP-4.” It will not be possible to assign it the status of a cemetery due to SanPiNov. They were buried here from 1947 to 1967. The Kaliningrad administration does not have permission for later burials, however, there are many graves that indicate the year 1968 and even single burials from the 90s. Klops requested copies of the documents.

“In 2006, in my opinion, Savenko signed documents that were classified as cemeteries in the city of Kaliningrad. These include the zones that I mentioned. It is to these territories that Federal Law 8 “On Funeral Business” applies, which we are guided by. <...> Today the city has no need to change this territory,” says the city manager.

Acaricidal treatment will continue at the cemetery. According to Dyatlova, the Chistota municipal unitary enterprise does not cut anything in this place, but only removed it with a windbreak and continues to remove the fallen trees. For the recent cleanup day on Kamskaya, the company provided a container. They’ve already taken him away; there are still mountains of branches.

“It started to rain. We need it to dry out a little, otherwise, if equipment comes in there, everything will sag, the equipment will skid, and it will all turn into mush and mud,” the administration explained.
