On the eve of April 26, Saratov celebrates the anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident

More than 5 thousand Saratov residents took part in eliminating the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Today, April 24, the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Saratov Region, Major General of the Internal Service Alexey Tatarkin, met with Chernobyl veterans and thanked them for honorably fulfilling their duty as officers and today in service.

A commemorative and mourning event dedicated to the 38th anniversary of the disaster was held on Sokolova Gora at the “Those Who Protected from Atom” memorial.
