“Currently, construction work is already at the final stage. On April 23, the sculpture was installed. I was at the monument and watched the installation being carried out. We plan to open the memorial complex on Victory Day. I hope that after this park really becomes truly iconic, people will not ask questions about where this place is. Interesting memorial. And, most importantly, with the correct semantic content,” the mayor emphasized.

In his opinion, this will be a place where people can honor the memory of their fallen compatriots and understand where these tragic events took place.

On the territory of the former reed factory on February 5, 1942, the Nazis and their accomplices burned at least 1,700 residents of Belgorod, including women and children.
