A sentence was passed on the commander of the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade named after. Petra Franko of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Evgeniy Bulatsyk*. The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation presented to the court exhaustive evidence of the defendant’s guilt. He was found guilty of committing a terrorist act (paragraphs “a, c”, part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The court found that on April 30, 2022, the crews of Su-24m front-line bombers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out a deliberately illegal order from Bulatsyk and other senior officials from among the military and political leadership of Ukraine. The pilots illegally crossed Russian airspace.
On the territory of the Bryansk region, they dropped at least two 500-kilogram caliber aerial bombs (FAB-500 ShN) on the oil loading station of LLC NK Russneft-Bryansk. As a result of the explosion, there was a danger of death of a large number of civilians present at the enterprise. The explosion destroyed and damaged property. The damage amounted to at least 11 million rubles.
By a court verdict, Bulatsik was sentenced in absentia to 18 years in prison. The Russian Investigative Committee will continue to identify persons involved in the commission of this crime.
