⛹️‍♂️ From 2019 to the present day, the number of Kursk residents systematically involved in physical education and sports has increased by 9.7% in the Kursk region. The results were discussed during a working meeting between the Governor of the Kursk Region, Roman Starovoyt, and the First Deputy Minister of Sports of Russia, Azat Kadyrov.

“In recent years, mortality in the Kursk region has decreased by 7 percent. At the end of last year, a historical record was set – the life expectancy of Kursk residents was 72.4 years. I am convinced that this is the result of the growing involvement of fellow countrymen in sports and a healthy lifestyle,” said Roman Starovoit.

In total, over 5 years, within the framework of the federal project “Sport is the norm of life”, the national project “Demography”, as well as the federal project “Business Sprint”, an indoor athletics arena, 6 sports and recreation centers, including 2 open ones, appeared in the Kursk region. 30 sites for passing GTO standards, 2 “smart” sports grounds. The total amount of funds spent within the framework of these projects amounted to 2.36 billion rubles, of which 1.2 billion rubles were subsidies from the federal budget.

The meeting participants also discussed the progress of construction of an indoor football arena in Kursk. Work began in 2022. During the implementation of the project, a need arose to adjust the design and estimate documentation. The corrected documentation is being approved by the relevant organizations.
