Cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov may become a deputy of the Moscow City Duma. He informed his subscribers on social networks about his decision to participate in the elections.

He expressed confidence that Moscow should become a center for the development of the most advanced technologies, and the party that he intends to represent is capable of “bringing together all resources and directing them to solve common problems.”

Together with him, other members of the “star team”, who intend to be elected from the North-Western district of the capital, starred in the video – Olympic champions Maria Kiseleva (synchronized swimming) and Olga Zaitseva (biathlon). At the same time, Kiseleva is still a deputy of the Moscow City Duma.

“Preliminary voting documents were filed today,” they say.

Anton Shkaplerov was born in 1972 in Sevastopol. He made four space flights, during which he went into outer space three times, where he spent a total of 21 hours and 39 minutes. Hero of the Russian Federation.

In our city, he also took part in the election process. In 2016, the cosmonaut participated in the United Russia primaries before the State Duma elections, but lost to Dmitry Belik, who took first place, who became the party’s candidate in Sevastopol.

After this, Shkaplerov was included in the party list, where he took fifth place among candidates from Sevastopol and Crimea. However, this was not enough to become a deputy.
