Police seized more than five kilograms of plant drugs from a barn in the village of Aleksandrovo, Ryazan region. This was reported by the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Ryazan region.
Investigators learned that a 42-year-old Ryazan resident could be storing herbal drugs in his house in the village of Aleksandrovo.
Employees of the UNK, together with colleagues from the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Ryazan region and special forces from the regional department of the Russian Guard, visited the man. In his house and buildings on his plot, they found bags and plastic buckets filled with dried plant parts. As the examination established, the Ryazan resident stored 832 grams of marijuana and 4,339 grams of hemp in his barn. All this was confiscated from the owner, and he himself was detained.
According to preliminary information, the man grew hemp last year on his property. He prepared marijuana from part of the harvest for personal use, and hid part of it.
A criminal case was opened against the Ryazan resident under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal possession, production, processing of narcotic drugs on a large scale). It provides for up to 10 years in prison.
