The organizers of the “Total Dictation 2024” event in St. Petersburg summed up the results. According to Renata Gonso, 423 people became excellent students this year.

According to the main city coordinator of the event, Yulia Gryzlova, the event was attended by 7,607 people, which is slightly more than last year, but less than the venues could accommodate. We managed to cross the desired million using the online format.

“Maybe the snowfall had an effect, but only 7,607 people made it.” We are a little behind Moscow, given that the population there is twice as large. Therefore, we are proud of the people of St. Petersburg. In total, 1,294,000 people took part,” Gryzlova said.

37 people became excellent foreigners. For the first time, 25 participants wrote a text by writer Anna Mateeva in Izhora and Veppian languages. The youngest participant was an 8-year-old girl, and the oldest was 92 years old.

The organizer of the dictation check, Renata Gonso, emphasized that the most common spelling error was writing an adjective with the particle “not” – “clippings from newspapers that no longer exist.” In addition, the announcers did not pronounce the endings correctly at all venues. For example, instead of “even if it’s a provincial ball” they wrote “a narrowly provincial ball”, “a list of ratings” – “a list of prices”.

Earlier, 78.ru wrote that actor Andrei Urgant, player of “What? Where? When?” Alexey Blinov and actor Mikhail Boyarsky became readers in 2024.
