Forecasters gave a preliminary weather forecast in Voronezh for the summer of 2024 – Internet channel “TV Gubernia”

Summer this year in Voronezh will be hot, but almost without abnormal temperatures. At the same time, the average air temperature still promises to be higher than last year. This follows from the long-term forecast of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia.

Judging by the preliminary forecast, in June and July the temperature in Voronezh is expected to be within normal limits. Let us remind you that the average daily temperature for our city in June is +19.1 degrees, in July – +21.1 degrees. But in August, our city may be hit by heat: the average daily temperature will be at least 15% above normal. Considering that the norm for Voronezh in August is +19.9 degrees, this year the average daily temperature in the city may reach +22.9 degrees. Let us note that this figure is far from a record. The average maximum was reached in Voronezh in 2010 – 26.5 degrees.

One of the main reasons for the increase in average temperatures and heat waves is global climate change. And it is fraught not only with heat and temperature fluctuations. According to Voronezh climatologist, head of the Department of Environmental Management at Voronezh State University Leonid Akimov, many cities in the world are at risk of flooding in the next 30-50 years.

— The weather is becoming more and more unstable. For example, the terrible flood in the Urals is also a consequence of global warming. At the beginning of April it became sharply warmer, which is why the huge deposits of snow there began to melt sharply. However, in the near future, large-scale floods may occur in other parts of the Earth, the climatologist is sure. – The average temperature of our planet is growing rapidly. If in the 1990s it was -0.2 degrees, now it is +0.75. This is a very big leap. The ice in Antarctica continues to melt. And I’m afraid that many cities in the world may soon go under water. So, in the risk zone are Venice, Amsterdam, New York, Istanbul. It will be difficult for many island states. But our country cannot relax either. After all, the permafrost in Siberia is also gradually melting. Because of this, the erosion of rails and building foundations is already happening there. This is a global problem, and all of humanity needs to work hard to fight climate threats together.
