The governor promised to save historical buildings in Ulyanovsk

Governor Alexey Russkikh intends to reconstruct historical buildings in Ulyanovsk. He announced this during the report on the results of work for last year.

Russkikh noted that there are many iconic historical buildings in the region that are now in poor condition and require repairs.

These are the buildings of the former merchant Yurgens store, the Khudozhestvenny cinema, the cadet corps, the Regional Philharmonic and the Yazykov house.

– This is a huge problem that has been building up for years. The time has come to solve it. We must save these buildings and leave them to our descendants. We have the political will for this. We will find financial mechanisms for preserving the cultural heritage of Simbirsk-Ulyanovsk,” the governor said.

He also recalled that President Vladimir Putin ordered the formation of a long-term program for the preservation of cultural heritage sites.

“Our task is to prepare a regional program in the near future, join a new national project and receive federal support,” said the head of the region.
