In May, VTB clients will be able to get a mortgage to purchase housing in Crimea. It will be possible to conduct a transaction remotely from any region of Russia.

Expanding its presence in the regions is one of VTB’s strategic priorities. The bank plans to double the reach of physical channels and expand the availability of its products and services, including mortgages, to millions of new customers.

At the same time, VTB is minimizing the documents required to enter into a transaction, reducing their number by almost 20 positions, and in August will make mortgages available to foreign citizens.

“Today, the main way to purchase real estate is a mortgage, and we see the development of this instrument as one of our social tasks. We strive to be closer to potential borrowers, increase the availability of lending for them and take into account the needs of residents of different regions of the country. In the near future, it will be possible to get a mortgage from us for housing in five more regions. Among them is Crimea, which is strategic for the state. Transactions will be possible in several RNKB offices in 4 cities of the peninsula, in our branches closest to the region, or completely remotely,” said Georgy Gorshkov, Deputy President and Chairman of the Board of VTB.

Thanks to VTB’s entry into the region, for the first time, residents of Crimea will be able to obtain a mortgage for the purchase of land plots, real estate pledged by another bank, and also combine state programs with market ones for transactions with new buildings. This will allow them to increase the maximum loan amount from June and buy larger housing in their region at a combined preferential rate.

According to Georgy Gorshkov, simultaneously with the expansion of the physical network, the bank will continue to develop digital channels. In April, VTB launched a new service that allows buyers, sellers and real estate agents to go through all stages of applying for a mortgage in a single virtual space. In the near future, through integration with the government services portal, the bank will optimize the questionnaire service for submitting applications.

Working with partners will also make the mortgage transaction easier.

Today, 65% of mortgage applications are submitted by VTB clients through real estate agencies and developers. Given the demand for this channel, the bank is modernizing its work with them, which will speed up transactions and give borrowers more favorable conditions for mortgage lending.
