Police in Saratov caught an accomplice of swindlers

Police in Saratov detained a 20-year-old alleged assistant of the scammers, who, according to investigators, played the role of a courier in their scam. Cooperation with this girl allowed the swindlers to deceive four pensioners in the regional center. According to information from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the scammers used a common scheme called “Your relative is in trouble.” They posed as police officers or doctors in order to deceive grandmothers and get money from them.

The damage from these crimes amounted to over 1.5 million rubles. After the arrest, the girl admitted her involvement in the crimes. She was detained, according to the department, thanks to CCTV footage. Now a criminal case has been opened against her.
