The paratroopers’ square in Ivanovo is being spruced up for the 80th anniversary of the Ivanovo Airborne Division

For the 80th anniversary of the 98th Guards Airborne Svirskaya Red Banner Order of Kutuzov II degree division, which is celebrated on May 3, 2024, the Paratroopers Square on Okulova Street in Ivanovo is being put in order. The press service of the mayor’s office reported this on Wednesday, April 24.

Repair work is carried out jointly by contractors from the Ivanovo city administration and the division’s personnel.

“By now, the restoration of the staircase has been completed, the tile covering on one of the paths is being repaired, as well as the retaining wall is being faced. In addition, pedestals for military equipment in the park have been put in order, and the foundation for a new memorial sign has been laid,” the message says.

Izvestno.ru wrote that on May 1, a motor rally dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the 98th Ivanovo Airborne Division will be held in Ivanovo. A convoy of 80 cars will travel along the central streets of the city. At the memorial to the Heroes of the front and rear, cars will line up in the symbolic number “80”.
