Manufacturing production in the capital has increased by 17% since the beginning of this year. The information was shared by the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin during a visit to the Spetskabel research and production enterprise in the Golyanovo district.
“Moscow industry is experiencing a new birth. In recent years, the volume of industry in Moscow has doubled, and since the beginning of the year alone, the growth of manufacturing industries has shown 17%,” the mayor specified.
He also highly appreciated the active development of the Spetskabel enterprise, which produces new products and supplies them to the space, nuclear, transport and other leading industries.
Vice-president of the Spetskabel plant Sergei Lobanov told the mayor that production at the enterprise increased by 10% in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2023, and noted the well-developed concept for building a new plant to meet growing demand. According to him, annually the production volume at the plant increases by no less than 15%.
A report from the press service of the mayor and government of Moscow indicates that 32% of the products of the Spetskabel plant go to the Moscow market and are also exported to 68 regions of Russia. The company’s products, including fire-resistant cables for fire protection systems and fire-resistant cables for local computer networks, have high quality characteristics.
In 2023, the Spetskabel plant entered into an agreement with the Moscow government and developed a new design for universal cables with increased heat and frost resistance. There are also plans to build a new production workshop to increase cable production volumes to 40 thousand km per year.
In Moscow, there are 18 enterprises specializing in the creation and production of cable and wire products. Between January and February 2024, the volume of products shipped increased by 5.8% compared to the same period the previous year.
