Rospotrebnadzor recorded an increase in measles incidence in the Rostov region

In the Rostov region, a cyclical increase in the incidence of measles was noted. As of April 24, the incidence rate per 100 thousand population was 6.8, which is 2.8% lower than the same indicator in March of the same year. The regional government reports this with reference to the Rospotrebnadzor department.

As noted by the Don Ministry of Health, three types of vaccines are used in the region:

– against measles (for children and adults);

— against measles, mumps (for children from 1 year to 6 years);

– against measles, rubella, mumps (for children from 1 year to 6 years).

The last type of vaccine was delivered to the region at the end of January, beginning of March and mid-April 2024. The number of doses was limited.

“At the moment, the vaccine is available in the required quantity in all medical organizations in the Rostov region that vaccinate the child population,” the department clarified.

In addition, at the beginning of this month they delivered mumps-measles vaccine. The drugs were immediately sent to all medical organizations.

In total, in 2024, the regional Ministry of Health purchased 26 thousand doses of measles vaccine. The money was allocated from the regional budget.

Earlier, Notepad Rostov wrote that a student at one of the Rostov schools was suspected of having measles. because of high temperature. The child has already been tested for the disease; the results determine whether quarantine will be introduced at the educational institution.
