An unusual set of triplets were born at the Chelyabinsk Regional Perinatal Center. Boys weighing from 2300 to 2600 kilograms were born to 25-year-old Daria. The kids pleased the doctors with good health indicators; they require almost no rehabilitation. The father of a large family also came to the hospital. The details were provided by the press service of the OPC.

Daria did not immediately learn that a massive addition was expected to the family. At the first ultrasound, only one child was visible.

— At the first ultrasound there was one, at the second there were two, and later it turned out that there were three of them. With each ultrasound the number increased. In the end, I didn’t know whether to be happy or not. More fear, probably. When I told my husband that it was twins, he was somehow scared or something. And when I found out about the triplets, I reacted more calmly. I was already joking before the fourth ultrasound: “Watch out there, don’t scribble another one“- said the young mother.

The triplets, as is usually the case, were born prematurely and by caesarean section. Despite this, Misha, Vova and Artyom (as the boys were named by their parents) do not have the typical health problems for such a case. And this is very rare. The babies were born almost full-term and at a good weight. There is no need to adjust their weight, improve breathing, feed them through a tube or parenterally, pouring solutions through the vessels.

– All that remains is to get them out just a little bit. Grandmothers used to warm themselves in felt boots. So with us they lie in warm beds, we help them learn to eat. But these are minimal activities that are carried out with premature babies,” noted Oksana Lyubavina, chief physician of the OPC.

The birth of triplets at an earlier stage is a natural phenomenon, since the volume of the mother’s womb is limited, and when there is no longer enough space, childbirth occurs. Sometimes doctors have to call them themselves if a woman’s body can no longer cope with such a load. According to Alexey Fortygin, Deputy Chief Physician of the OPC for Surgery, during a monochorionic pregnancy, children share blood supply and nutrition, but not always equally. In Daria’s case, each boy had his own “house,” so the children developed almost the same way.

“The only problem was that it was cramped, but, as they say, no offense – we accommodated ourselves as best we could: some along, some across,” the doctor noted.

Now Daria and the kids are in a separate room. The boys’ father, Alexander, is nearby. He was able to come to his family on vacation from the Northern Military District zone, where he serves under a contract. When the newborns begin to gain weight, the family can go home. There, their three-year-old daughter Lisa and Daria’s sisters, 14 and 17 years old, are already waiting for them, whom she, after the death of her parents, is raising herself. Governor Alexey Texler also congratulated the family on their large addition. For Alexander, who wished to return to civilian life after the birth of his children, the head of the region promised to help him find a job.

Let us remind you that the birth of a child is a responsible process that pregnant women approach with the utmost seriousness. The choice of maternity hospital is not the least important in this matter. Now expectant mothers are not required to go to the hospital at their place of residence for childbirth.
