Moscow. April 24. INTERFAX.RU – Purchasing single tickets for flights from Russia to Mexico in transit through Turkey on Turkish Airlines flights has become unavailable, according to the information on the carrier’s website.
“We have no flights available for the date and route you selected, or we are sold out. Please change the date and/or route for a new flight search,” a pop-up message says when searching for flights.
At the same time, you can purchase tickets to Turkey and Mexico separately on the website.
Recently, Russian transit passengers have increasingly begun to report on social networks that they, even though they had a ticket, were not allowed on a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Latin American countries. Among the countries to which Russians are prohibited from flying are Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Panama and a number of others.
In turn, the Russian Embassy in Turkey recommended that Russian tourists who find themselves in such a situation sue Turkish Airlines.
Earlier on Wednesday, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the Russian government and the Russian Foreign Ministry are actively working to resolve the situation with Turkish Airlines refusing to allow Russians on transit flights to Latin America.
