Employees of the thermal power plant in Tambov were congratulated on the 70th anniversary of the organization

Tambov Thermal Power Plant celebrates its 70th anniversary. On April 24, 1954, at the newly built thermal power plant, the first turbogenerator with a capacity of 16 megawatts was connected to the network. Employees who made a significant contribution to the development of the enterprise were awarded with insignia and letters of gratitude.

In the assembly hall, people gathered who bring the necessary light and warmth into the lives of Tambov residents. Vyacheslav Borodulin – senior operator of the boiler department. He has been working at the thermal power plant for 31 years, monitoring the operation of the equipment and repairing it. For his labor achievements, he was awarded the badge of the Regional Government.

Vyacheslav Borodulin, senior boiler equipment operator, 7th category, Boiler-Turbine Shop, Boiler Department of the Tambov CHPP production division: “In 1992, I came here to the thermal power plant. You can say that I came by accident. It was difficult at first, of course, but then I slowly got used to it.”

Another one guarded the thermal power plant – electrician Vyacheslav Khvorov. Every day he services the automation and measuring instruments of power plants. His journey to the thermal power plant began in 1977. Now he is already a mentor to many of his colleagues.

Vyacheslav Khvorov, electrician for repair and maintenance of automation and measuring instruments of power plants at Tambov CHPP: “At first I studied, now I’ve been working in the 6th category for a long time. It turns out that I really like my specialty. And all the years I didn’t grieve that I came to the thermal power plant.”

The emergence of a thermal power plant marked the beginning of large-scale work on housing construction and district heating in Tambov, thanks to which in the 60s houses on Michurinskaya Street received long-awaited warmth.

Maxim Kosenkov, head of the Tambov city administration: “Times are changing, there are new tasks, new forms of economic activity. But the main thing that remains unchanged is that the enterprise continues to provide heat and hot water, as the main resources, from the point of view of the urban economy, to a significant part of the city’s population.”

Today the station provides thermal energy to 60% of Tambov residents, and also covers 30% of the region’s electricity needs.

Alexey Nechaev, chief engineer of Tambov generation: “For 70 years this development has been going on together. The thermal power plant uninterruptedly provides heat and electricity, thanks to more than one generation of power engineers who dedicated their lives to the station and worked here.”

Very soon the Tambov CHPP will undergo modernization. As part of one of the state programs, a new steam turbine will be installed here, which will provide all the heat supply in the city: both in homes and in enterprises.
