Ekaterinburg. April 24. INTERFAX – The Sri Lankan authorities are considering the possible extension of free visas for Russians, said the Republic’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation, Janita Liyanage.

“Visas were initially planned in a free format until March 31. Then it was decided to extend them for another month. Now the issue is being worked out. Perhaps there will be a further extension,” the ambassador told reporters at a briefing in Yekaterinburg on Wednesday.

According to her, last winter 14 direct flights regularly flew from various Russian cities to international Sri Lankan airports located in Colombo and Matale, which contributed to an increase in tourist flow in both directions.
