On April 23, the final event of the project “Forshtadt patterns: women’s Cossack costume

Samples of traditional Ural clothing are presented in the largest Russian museums – the State Historical Museum, the Russian Ethnographic Museum, and the Hermitage. But it is in the governor’s museum that the largest collection of holiday sundresses is stored, consisting of 39 exhibits. Thanks to the support of the Orenburg branch of PJSC T Plus, in 2023 the museum restored three items – two sundresses and sleeves. They were in the restoration center of Phenomenon LLC for more than seven months.

– The project is infinitely valuable and important for all residents of the Orenburg region. This is our history, our origins, and they are preserved not only by museum workers, but also by all artists. It is from sketches of such sundresses that the Orenburg State Academic Russian Folk Choir, the calling card of the region, sews its costumes. Numerous amateur groups in the region perform in costumes of Ural Cossack women. “Thank you to everyone involved for preserving historical traditions,” noted First Deputy Minister of Culture of the region Alla Ligostaeva.

During the implementation “Forshtadt patterns: women’s Cossack costume» The museum, together with partners, organized dozens of lectures and master classes. The event was attended by representatives of educational institutions and organizations that were active participants in the project: Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Russian History of the Orenburg State Pedagogical University Elena Godovova; ataman of the Orenburg farm Cossack society “Atamansky Farm” Vladimir Chashchin, folklore and ethnographic ensemble “The Month Shines”.
