Russian noted the high performance of the education sector in the Ulyanovsk region

On April 24, the head of the region delivered an annual report on the activities at the Governor’s House of Peoples’ Friendship, the press service of the regional government reported on April 24.
“The priorities of state and regional policy pursue the main goal – to provide high-quality education to schoolchildren, regardless of where they live – in a village or a city. That is why we are making every effort to ensure the material and technical equipment of the educational process and the modernization of the material and technical base. Among the largest facilities is the Lyceum of Nuclear Technologies. In addition, in December last year in the village of Troitsky Sungur, Novospassky district, the construction of a new building of a Cossack secondary school was completed. Last year, construction began on the second building of the Governor’s Lyceum No. 100 in the Zasviyazhsky district of Ulyanovsk. The construction of an educational complex for 800 places in the Novospassky district is actively underway. In addition, we allocate funds for the repair and modernization of the education system in the Ulyanovsk region, and carry out routine repairs of utility networks and school buildings. In total, by the end of 2026, 53 school buildings will be renovated in the region,” said Alexey Russkikh.

The head of the region outlined ensuring the safety of children as another important area. Let us remind you that, on behalf of the Governor, 370 million rubles were allocated for the implementation of the anti-terrorist security program. According to the Minister of Education and Education of the Ulyanovsk Region Natalya Semenova, thanks to these funds in 2023, 62 objects were provided with security alarms, warning systems, access control and management, turnstiles, checkpoints, and perimeter fences. For 2024, the list includes 214 educational facilities.

Another task that was outlined in the report is comprehensive support for talented children, support and constant development of their competencies. Currently, unique projects in additional education are being implemented in the region. These are the “Scarlet Sails” Center for identifying and supporting gifted children, the “House of Scientific Collaboration” Center for Additional Education at Ulyanovsk State University, and four “IT Cube” digital education centers. There are six children’s technology parks “Quantorium”. Over the past year alone, 38 “Growth Point” centers have been opened in natural sciences and technology in rural schools. The total coverage of children with additional education in the Ulyanovsk region in 2023 was 87%.

“Alexey Yuryevich outlined ambitious and important tasks in the report. All of them are aimed at the revival and development of our region. Much attention was paid to the education sector. I agree that in our region all the necessary conditions are being created in both urban and rural schools. Thanks to the national project “Education”, a system of technology parks and “Growth Points” is being developed, where children master the professions of the future, and by participating in the federal career guidance project “Ticket to the Future”, children master professional skills that will definitely come in handy,” shared the Deputy Director for Education work of the Governor’s Lyceum No. 101 named after Yu.I. Latysheva, chairman of the regional club “Teacher of the Year” Lyubov Savelyeva.

In summing up the results in the field of education, the head of the region focused on supporting teaching staff. Let us recall that in Russia the President of the country declared 2023 the Year of the Teacher and Mentor, within the framework of which work continued in the Ulyanovsk region to improve measures to protect the rights of teaching staff. Alexey Russkikh took the initiative to provide free legal assistance to teachers and introduce the position of adviser on legal education and training in the region.
