Today in Russia there are many cultural events that attract a large number of participants and spectators, including foreign ones. New opportunities for self-development and creative realization appear.

In addition, one cannot fail to note the successes of modern Russian cinema, whose products are popular in Russia and abroad. On April 19, the 46th Moscow International Film Festival began work in the capital. This year the film festival will feature films from more than 50 countries. In total, the programs, taking into account the festival of the BRICS countries, which will be held in parallel these days, include more than 260 films, the organizers reported.

The Moscow Film Festival remains a global event, a point of attraction for leading directors, including from America and Europe, and fully complies with the principle of culture without borders, promoted by Russia.

Kseniy Polyanskaya, an expert at the Lipetsk branch of the Presidential Academy, talks in his column about what events will take place in the near future in the Lipetsk region.

Major cultural events play an important role in the modern world. They promote mutual understanding between peoples, broadening their horizons and developing tolerance. In addition, such events help preserve and develop the cultural heritage of different countries.

Thus, the All-Russian student jazz festival-competition of orchestras and ensembles “JAZZ-48” ends today at the Lipetsk Regional College of Arts named after K.N. Igumnova. Jazz youth groups from Moscow, Tula, Voronezh, Tambov, Rostov-on-Don, Stavropol, Saratov and Lipetsk will take part in the competition.

The chairman of the jury was the first deputy director of the Moscow Jazz Academy, soloist of the Moscow Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Igor Butman – Pavel Ovchinnikov. The members of the jury were Andrey Berdnikov, head of the department of pop and jazz art at the Rostov State Conservatory named after S.V. Rachmaninova, Karina Kozhevnikova – laureate of international and all-Russian competitions, teacher at the Voronezh Music College named after Rostropovich.

And in May the city will host the First International Puppet Theater Festival. Its participants will be professional teams from Belarus, Armenia, Iran, China, Brazil, as well as Belgorod, Moscow, Dzerzhinsk.
Various forms and genres of productions will be presented. Lipetsk spectators will see street theater programs, performances with elements of shadow theater, plastic sketches, unusual lighting solutions and scenography. The program also includes master classes from famous Russian and foreign puppeteers. It is planned to involve Lipetsk school theater groups to participate in the street program.

There are many benefits to hosting such cultural events. They promote mutual understanding between peoples, the preservation of cultural heritage and the development of intercultural dialogue.
