In Orenburg, owners of houses flooded during the flood will have to meet with a commission to assess the damage. The first inspections took place today.

As Orenburg Media previously wrote, damage assessment commissions began working in the regional center on April 19. In total, 51 municipal commissions will be involved in this work in the city.

Based on the results of the inspection of the house, representatives of the commission can make two decisions: the house is subject to major repairs, or the house is unfit for habitation. The work will be carried out on an ongoing basis until every residential premises damaged as a result of the emergency is inspected.

If the commission has arrived, but the owner is not at home for some reason, an advertisement with a telephone number will be posted on the property so that the owner has the opportunity to call and specialists will return again at a time convenient for the owner. Schedules will be published regularly. In addition to officials from the city administration, the commission will include representatives of Rospotrebnador.

– The commission has the right to work in emergency mode. The City Head’s resolution on the work of the commission was amended the day before, on April 23, regarding the inclusion of a certified expert in the composition and the creation of working groups. This is due to the significant volume of households that the commission has to go through,” said vice-mayor and head of the department of property and housing relations of the city administration, Maria Kanygina.

The working group will conduct a visual inspection of the structural elements of the home and take photographs. Each final act will be signed by the working group and an expert. The report and photographic materials will be presented to the headquarters of the interdepartmental commission. You can get information by calling: 30-43-00, 30-43-10, 30-43-66.

The 2024 flood is being called one of the largest on record and the most serious since 1957. In total, 89 square kilometers of the city area were flooded in Orenburg during the flood days. This is about a third of the entire territory. More than 6,500 households were affected. The water entered several multi-storey blocks.
