Summer and Winter lakes in Kaliningrad will be cleared no earlier than 2026. Representatives of the city administration reported this in comments on the VKontakte page of regional governor Anton Alikhanov.

“Lakes Letneye and Zimneye were included in the plan for the improvement of rivers. They will be able to be cleared after 2026-2027. Until this time, work was planned on other reservoirs in the city and region. For example, we have already concluded contracts for the development of design estimates for clearing the riverbed and improving the adjacent territory of the Parkovoy stream and sections of Lake Verkhny. We also completed clearing the bed of the Gagarinsky stream last year and the Yaltinsky pond in Kaliningrad,” the report says.

The administration added that this week, as part of the all-Russian cleanup, garbage will be removed from the shoreline of Winter Lake.

In 2023, it was reported that the Kaliningrad authorities plan to solve the problem with the drainage of Summer Lake by the end of next year.
