The Tambov prosecutor’s office for monitoring compliance with laws in the region’s correctional institutions identified violations regarding non-compliance with the frequency of laboratory tests of the blood of HIV-infected convicts.
“In order to eliminate violations and protect the rights of an indefinite number of people, a specialized prosecutor sent an administrative claim to the court to impose the obligation to conduct laboratory tests on convicts in accordance with the requirements of the current federal legislation,” reports Prosecutor’s office of the Tambov region.
The appeal ruling of the Tambov Regional Court satisfied the requirements of the special prosecutor in full. The authorized body has concluded an agreement with the municipal health care organization, within the framework of which the necessary laboratory tests have begun.
The court decision must be executed by September 2025. The Special Prosecutor’s Office controls the actual execution of the judicial act.
