This year there will be no large outdoor celebrations in the region in May.

As the press service of the regional administration told Gorodskiye Vesti, this is primarily due to the safety of citizens. The day before, a coordination meeting was held to ensure law and order, where it was decided to cancel mass events dedicated to May 1 and the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory,

Therefore, May Day demonstrations, the Immortal Regiment procession and the Light of the Great Victory event will not be held in the region. In addition, there will be no traditional concerts on the Volgograd embankment or fireworks displays.

Only one event was left – the Victory Parade. It will take place on May 9 at the Square of Fallen Fighters. At the same time, all security measures will be provided.
