This year the competition was dedicated to the Year of the Family and brought together more than 800 young artists from different regions. The festival ended with a large gala concert “Parade of Winners”.
According to tradition, “Nikulin Spring” was held in two formats: online – on the project website and in person – at the arena of the Center for the Promotion of Family Education named after Yu.V. Nikulin, who is the organizer of the event. In total, 59 children’s circus groups took part in the competition; children from 11 child protection institutions demonstrated their skills in the “Social Circus” nomination.
The performances of the young artists were assessed by circus professionals, including the grandson of the famous artist Yuri Nikulin Jr., artists of the Moscow Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard Victoria Bilyauer and Konstantin Gvozdetsky.
“Every year the number of festival participants is growing. This means that circus art retains its popularity among children and youth, lives and develops with the new generation“, shared Evgeny BilyauerPeople’s Artist of Russia, Chairman of the Jury.
Traditionally, the festival ended with a gala concert. April 20 at the Center named after Yu.V. Nikulin was performed by 11 children’s groups from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Pavlovsky Posad, Kaluga, Cherepovets and Perm. The honorary guests of the evening were the head of the interregional public organization “Center for Good Deeds” Sabina Tsvetkova, deputy of the Moscow City Duma Elena Nikolaeva, actor and producer Igor Renard-Kio, head of the autonomous non-profit organization “Generation of Winners” Dmitry Krasnov.
Participants of the “Silver Mentoring” project came to support the children – older generation city residents from the Moscow longevity centers “Ryazansky”, “Nekrasovka” and “Zhulebino”, who have already become true friends for them.
“We live next to the Yu.V. Center. Nikulina. My granddaughters enjoy attending clubs there, and I — classes for participants of the Moscow Longevity project. For the last year I have also been a “silver” mentor of students, which I am very proud of!” — told Lyudmila Khan, activist of the Moscow Longevity Center “Nekrasovka”.
In the “Social Circus” nomination, the third degree winner was Zlata, a participant in the “Pilgrim” circus studio from Pavlovsky Posad (Moscow region), who presented an original act with hula hoops. A student of the Moscow Center for Orphans named after Yu.V. received a 2nd degree laureate diploma. Nikulina Marina. The jury unanimously awarded the 1st degree laureate diploma to the Montgolfieri circus theater from St. Petersburg, which performed the acrobatic act “Whistle Everybody Up.”
In addition, young artists received awards in special categories. The guys from the special family center named after. G.I. Rossolimo (Moscow) won the “Opening of the Festival” and “Our Sunshine” awards. Pupils of the Mayak Center for Orphans (Moscow) were awarded the “Overcoming” prize. In the nominations “For artistry and charm” and “Hope”, students of the Center named after Yu.V. received diplomas. Nikulin (Moscow), and the winners of the audience award were young artists from the special family center “Formula of Growth” (Moscow).
“”Overcoming” — This is exactly the nomination that best matches the idea of our issue. Walking on a tightrope symbolizes our life with its constant movement, dangers and victories. That’s why the production is called “Without Insurance.”– said the head of the theater studio of the Mayak Center Irina Polyakova.
Based on the results of in-person screenings of the main nomination, third degree laureates were artists from the Arena circus studio (Kaluga), the Center named after Yu.V. Nikulin (Moscow), circus studio “Pilgrim” (Pavlovsky Posad) and dance and acrobatic studio “Ovation” (Moscow). Diplomas of the 2nd degree were awarded to the acrobat jumpers of the Center named after Yu.V. Nikulin, the acrobatic trio of the folk circus group “Gracia” (Perm) and participants of the circus studio “Cascade” (Cherepovets), and first degree diplomas – the circus studio “Pilgrim” (Pavlovsky Posad), the studio “We are from the circus” (Moscow) and the Center named after Yu.V. Nikulina (Moscow).
The winners of the Nikulinskaya Spring Grand Prix this year were the guys from the Cascade circus studio (Cherepovets) with their performance “Equilibrium on Reels”.
