--

According to a survey conducted by Superjob among HR professionals, 34% of HR managers believe that applicants should include any hobbies and interests in their resumes, while 27% of recruiters prefer to see only those hobbies that match the specifics of the job and professional skills of the candidate. Only 25% of respondents consider this information unnecessary.

Interestingly, 5% of recruiters talked about cases where applicants’ hobbies actually became the reason for denial of employment. In particular, cases have surfaced where applicants have been rejected due to their involvement in extreme sports, where there is a high risk of injury and long recovery times that could affect work performance.
