In the Samara region, 182 veterans of the Great Patriotic War received an annual payment for Victory Day.

The holiday payment is due to disabled people and direct participants in the Great Patriotic War, including military personnel, partisans, members of underground organizations, intelligence officers, and defenders of Leningrad. Its size is 10 thousand rubles.

In April 2024, veterans received payment along with pensions, monthly cash payments and additional material support, the United Social Fund of Russia for the Samara Region reported.

It is noted that the youngest participant in the Great Patriotic War turned 97 years old last December, and the oldest veteran celebrated his 106th birthday in March 2024.

“Immortal Regiment” will be held online in 2024. There will be no traditional procession through the streets and squares. This became known on Tuesday, April 24. The organizers of the Immortal Regiment explained that this decision was made for the purposes of public safety.
