Participants in the XII international meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues taking place in St. Petersburg paid tribute to the memory of the residents and defenders of besieged Leningrad. Flowers and wreaths were laid today, April 24, at the foot of the Motherland monument at the Piskarevskoye cemetery.

The solemn funeral ceremony was attended by Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Northwestern Federal District Alexander Gutsan, Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov and members of foreign delegations, Smolny reported.

Earlier, Gorod+ wrote that foreign participants arrived at the international meeting from 106 countries. During the plenary session, they discussed issues of cooperation to ensure security, global and regional stability in the context of the formation of a multipolar world order, and also visited an exhibition at ExpoForum dedicated to the latest developments in the field of security.
