The first bicycle traffic light in Tula will start working on May 3

The first bicycle traffic light in Tula will start working on May 3. Let us remind you that it is located near the intersection of Lenin Avenue and Boldin Street and is part of the first section of the Lev Tolstoy bicycle route.

According to the deputy chairman of the regional Duma, curator of the Leo Tolstoy bicycle route, Alexander Rem, the traffic light is integrated into the overall system – its phases are synchronized with the main one. Thus, the operation of the bicycle traffic light will not affect the movement of road transport in any way.

“The most successful solution was found that will allow cyclists to cross the roadway comfortably,” explained Alexander Rem.

As Ilya Stepanov, deputy head of the United Russia faction in the Tula Regional Duma and deputy chairman of the Regional Duma Committee on Economic Policy, noted, the traffic light is logically integrated into the road infrastructure:

“This disciplines both motorists and pedestrians, and protects all road users from danger.”
