On April 23, 2024, the Chief Federal Inspector for the Samara Region, Mikhail Feoktistov, on behalf of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District, Igor Komarov, took part in the congress of the Association “Council of Municipal Formations of the Samara Region,” which includes the heads of all cities and districts in the region. The congress was opened by the Governor of the Samara Region, Dmitry Azarov. The congress participants discussed the results of the work and priority tasks for the development of the region.

The meeting began with congratulations to those gathered on their professional holiday – Local Government Day. Landscaping, housing and communal services, roads, public transport, sports and recreation centers, cultural centers, schools, kindergartens – all this is the responsibility of the local authorities. Through their daily work in the field, citizens form an attitude towards government authorities as a whole.

“In the Volga Federal District, work in this direction is organized taking into account the tasks set by the President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. One of its results was the active involvement of residents in assessing the quality of state and municipal services and the participation of citizens in the management of territories at the local level.

The importance of effective communication with residents and the inclusion of citizens in the decision-making process was noted by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District Igor Anatolyevich Komarov during the District Council dedicated to the development of local self-government,” Mikhail Feoktistov addressed the participants of the congress. He noted that in the context of a special military operation, municipalities have a special role in matters of interaction and support for the families of SVO participants.

“It is important to quickly and effectively resolve all issues that arise for special operation veterans and relatives of fallen soldiers, to join forces and, together with the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, do everything possible for the comfortable and quick return of heroes to civilian life. This is one of the main tasks set by the Head of State today,” noted the chief federal inspector.

Governor of the Samara Region Dmitry Azarov emphasized that the Samara Region was the first in the country to develop a digital system of social passports for military families, and the “Return” project received the support of the President and was recommended for replication in the regions of the country. Today, a significant amount of work to support heroes and their loved ones is carried out by the state fund “Defenders of the Fatherland”

Particular attention was paid to the need to provide assistance to people affected by the flood. Today, across the country, humanitarian aid is being collected for affected neighbors, primarily residents of the Orenburg region. Dmitry Azarov reported that the Samara region accepted children from the Orenburg region; they were placed in one of the children’s camps in the Krasnoyarsk region. The children are provided with all the necessary help.

Also at the congress, the chairman of the Association, the head of the city. Samara Elena Lapushkina presented a detailed report on the state and development of local government in the Samara region in 2023. Executive Director of the Association “Council of municipalities of the Samara region» Dmitry Slavetsky gave a report on the organization’s activities.

At the end of the congress, participants laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in memory of the heroes – defenders of the Motherland.
