2.5 billion rubles are missing for the construction of the third stage of the embankment in Zaton

In Saratov, about 2.5 billion rubles are missing to complete the third stage of the embankment in Zaton. This became known following the visit of State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin to the construction site. He visited the future beach on Monday, April 22.

Responsible officials and representatives of the contractor assured that the beach development work will be completed ahead of schedule – in August 2024. “The most important thing for us here is to set realistic deadlines so that the quality of work is met. It will be possible to please residents with a beach in August, but the completion of the entire project for next year, and for this it is necessary to find 3 billion (2.5 billion for the third stage and 500 million – reimbursement of regional funds for the second stage – approx. ed.). And we are completing the project in Zaton,” Volodin said.

It should be noted that visitors to the construction site were shown a stand with a breakdown of the project into stages. Now Yaroslavl JSC “EKS” is carrying out the first stage of bank protection with the construction of two breakwaters on a site with a length of 672 meters. The contract amount was 1.2 billion rubles, all funds were transferred to 2024.

In April, a contractor was also appointed for the construction of the second stage of bank protection. It again became EKS JSC. During the bidding, the contract price was reduced from 2.144 to 1.89 billion rubles. The second stage, as it turned out, includes work from the first pier near the Saratov-Engels bridge to houses No. 27-31 on Bolshaya Zatonskaya Street. This is an abandoned section of the embankment with a length of 812 meters, which now ends with two pontoons.

But there is no money for the third stage yet. This is a section that should connect the embankment near the bridge and the embankment in Zaton. Its length is 807 meters, and the cost of work is estimated at 2.5 billion rubles. There is no bank protection here at all.

At the same time, Volodin has already called for thinking about extending the embankment in the Zavodskoy district of Saratov, as well as the emergence of landscaped areas along the Volga in all cities.

“There should be embankments in all cities: in Saratov, and in Engels, and in Marx, and in Volsk, and in Balakovo, and in Khvalynsk, and in Voskresensk. There must be places of rest and the possibility of access to the Volga. In Balakovo this year we will begin to develop the embankment, in Volsk we will complete the arrangement of part of the embankment. In Engels you need to study. This is our task,” summed up the State Duma speaker.

At the same time, the fate of the areas between the solarium, the bridge and Bolshaya Zatonskaya Street was not discussed. What plans the authorities have for them remains a mystery.
