A Chelyabinsk resident, who could act as an intermediary between officials and entrepreneurs, was detained by FSB officers.

As a RIA Novy Den correspondent reports, counterintelligence officers detained businessman Alexander Sviridov. This is reported by a number of telegram channels.

The operatives acted as part of the investigation of a criminal case involving the head of Uraldorstroy LLC Nver Kolozyan, his son Garnik (the owner of the company), as well as employees of the Chelyabinskavtodor State Public Institution and the South Ural Road Testing and Research Center.

Let us remind you that the Kolozyans were detained in December 2023. According to investigators, between May and December last year, she handed over 600 tons of asphalt worth over 2.9 million rubles to the chief specialist of the technical supervision department of road construction works of the regional state government institution Chelyabinskavtodor. He received a massive gift for keeping the road company informed of upcoming inspections carried out by specialists from the testing laboratory, which made it possible to hide violations of the terms of government contracts, and also contributed to the acceptance of work of poor quality and non-compliance with regulatory and technical requirements.

In March of this year, operatives detained another Chelyabinskavtodor employee, the head of one of the departments.

According to the telegram channel “Epaulettes and Ties,” one of the defendants in the case testified against Sviridov, “known in narrow circles as the “reshalu.” Alexander Sviridov acted as an intermediary between representatives of business and government.”

State Duma deputy Vladimir Burmatov confirmed information about the detention of a Chelyabinsk resident in his telegram channel.

Currently, the businessman is charged with fraud on an especially large scale. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is being decided.
