Personnel shortage is currently one of the main problems in the closed city of Severomorsk, said the head of the municipality Oleg Prasov at a meeting with Governor Andrei Chibis.

– The unemployment rate in our ZATO still remains one of the lowest in the region and amounts to 0.3%. And now one of the main problems is not unemployment, but a shortage of personnel,” explained Oleg Prasov.

According to him, to solve the problem of personnel shortages, the ZATO is trying to attract young specialists – they are helped with the preparation of the necessary documents and provided with office housing.

– In addition, the repair and re-equipment of institutions and the improvement of the city play a significant role in solving the issue of personnel shortages. “A lot has been done in this direction in recent years within the framework of federal programs, the renovation of closed administrative towns, and the strategic plan “Live in the North,” the head of the closed administrative unit emphasized.

He added that with the financial support of the federal government and the region, a number of events are taking place in the municipality. This includes the construction of a new sports complex, the renewal of heating networks, and the repair of roads and housing stock.

“For our part, we will make every effort to ensure that all work is completed efficiently and on time,” Oleg Prasov promised.

In addition, it is noted that by the end of 2023, the current demographic situation is characterized by positive processes. In CATO, both natural and migration population growth has been observed.

The total population in Severomorsk has increased by more than a thousand people over the past year, the regional Ministry of Information reported.
