The two men were convicted of fraud: acquiring the right to someone else’s property by deception, the prosecutor’s office for the Kaluga region reported.

From 2016 to 2017, three men, using forged documents, obtained ownership of land plots that were previously used by the Kaluga City municipality. The total amount of damage amounted to more than 22 million rubles.

The two convicts were sentenced to six and five and a half years of imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony. They were taken into custody in the courtroom. However, the men did not admit their guilt.

In addition, scammers will have to pay the full amount of damage caused. The verdict did not enter into legal force.

Earlier in Kaluga, a man was detained for extorting money from entrepreneurs.
