The return of trolleybus route No. 2 in Ryazan is provided for in a comprehensive scheme, but the URT municipal unitary enterprise cannot launch it due to a lack of drivers. The governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, announced this during a live broadcast on the social network VKontakte. He noted that the personnel issue is one of the main ones, and there is a shortage of drivers not only in Ryazan. To solve the problem, measures are being taken, in particular, drivers’ salaries have been raised, and non-residents are provided with office housing.
Pavel Malkov agreed that the city needs spacious buses, and noted that Ryazan will receive 17 more large-class buses for passenger transportation. In the future, it is also planned to purchase new trolleybuses and equipment for repairing contact lines.
Commercial carriers, according to Malkov, are also gradually replacing small-class buses with middle-class buses, including this year transport units on route No. 42M2 will be replaced.
