On Wednesday, April 24, the Leninsky District Court of Samara sentenced the former deputy chairman of the board of AK Bank JSC (AktivKapitalBank) Alexey Saplinov. According to the Deposit Insurance Agency, he was found guilty of theft of bank funds in the amount of more than 64 million rubles. and sentenced to four years in prison.

The court also satisfied a civil claim in the amount of more than 64 million rubles.

The DIA explains that the theft was organized by issuing a non-repayable loan to a legal entity.

Let us remind you that AK Bank was deprived of its license at the end of March 2018, and in May the court declared it bankrupt. At the time of revocation of the license, according to the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the bank’s liabilities exceeded the value of its assets by 6.4 billion rubles. ActiveCapital Bank’s debt to creditors amounts to about 25 billion rubles. The DIA tried to bring 15 of its owners and managers to subsidiary liability for 23 billion rubles.
