Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev met with Deputy Director General of the General Department of Intelligence and Counterintelligence of the Cambodian Ministry of Defense Duong Uddam. The conversation took place within the framework of an international meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues, which is taking place these days in St. Petersburg. Interfax reports this.

Heads of delegations from ASEAN member states also took part in the conversation.

“The issues of strategic stability, arms control, as well as the situation in the Asia-Pacific region were discussed in detail,” the press service of the Russian Security Council reported.

Earlier, 78.ru wrote that delegations from 106 countries arrived at the XII International Meeting of High Representatives for Security. Participants plan to attend a number of plenary sessions and round tables, where the situation in the world will be analyzed. Delegations of countries will also discuss issues of global and regional stability, ensuring information security in the context of the formation of a polycentric world order.

In the morning, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a video message to the event participants. He emphasized that international terrorism remains one of the most serious threats of the 21st century.
