In 2024, the Legislative Assembly will consider the issue of awarding the title of honorary citizen of St. Petersburg; in total, no more than three titles will be awarded. This was reported by the press service of the parliament.

The decision was made at a closed meeting.

Previously, Fontanka talked about candidates for this title. Four people are vying for it:

– First Secretary of the Leningrad Committee of the CPSU, employee of the executive directorate of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of St. Petersburg Anatoly Gerasimov;

– People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, head of the St. Petersburg Jazz Philharmonic David Goloshchekin;

— surgeon, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation Dmitry Granov;

– Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Eduard Ailamazyan.
