Law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances of the death of a young couple in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg. The woman died in the apartment, the man in the hospital.
Emergency services to the high-rise building on Slavyanskaya Street were called the night before at about half past eight in the evening by a woman who could not get into the apartment, the Agency for Journalistic Investigations (AZHUR) learned on April 24. She said that her sister was being beaten by her partner, but none of them opened the door.
When the police entered the apartment on the 16th floor, 27 year old the woman was dead. They saw multiple stab wounds on her body. Another tenant – 26 year old a man was found under the windows in serious condition. He was taken to the Dzhanelidze Research Institute of Emergency Medicine with a broken head, fractures of the bones of the face, legs, pelvis and injuries to internal organs. It was not possible to save him.
According to preliminary data, on Monday evening the couple quarreled over divorce proceedings; at the height of the scandal, the man attacked the woman with a knife and left the apartment, ignoring the door. The deceased graduated from school in Tyva and lived in Moscow, where she worked as a tutor.
The Investigative Committee decides whether to initiate a criminal case.
